Happy New Year

It's really the 2nd of January of 2011 but whatever.
My New Year's Eve was so uneventful it wasn't funny.
All because (>START RANT) my parents won't let me out at dark to parties or sleepovers unless they drive me there, which basically means that I can't go anywhere with alcohol/drugs because then I will get scolded. They do this because they think that their 17 year old 'child' is not capable of looking after himself and because the world outside my house becomes unsafe at night. They truly are paranoid.

Tracking back to Christmas, I got cologne from my Secret Santa which is the best Secret Santa yet. Onto Christmas Night, I had my FUCKING VANS STOLEN. They felt molded to my riding feet and had sustained riding marks and I've grown to love them. Now I have to find new Vans really quick because they are probably the best shoes I've ever worn. If I see my shoes on some deliquent's feet, I swear I'll tackle them and beat the shit out of his face and take my shoes back. And if you're somehow reading this - you're dead when I find you because I love my shoes.

After waking up to find my beloved shoes were gone, my family and I left to Denmark with my uncle's family. Fun was had.

Arriving back in Perth, I found out my crappy TEE result of 87.6 and this caused "Son I am disappoint" in my parents. But I don't really mind, it's enough to get into my preferences for University. Rode my bike the first chance I got, felt good man.

New Year's Resolutions?
1. Pwn uni
2. Get a billion times more fit to ride to UWA
3. Get into UWA
4. Stop gaming too much
5. Start reading political and military theory from minds such as Trotsky and Machiavelli and Clausewitz
6. Get a job
7. Make $$$
8. Buy good clothing, new sneakers
9. Get a track frame with $$$ and upgrade wheelset
10. Make new friends and keep in touch with old ones

My life is hard. Happy New Year.

Boring As Hell

Blogging because I'm really bored. As you might have noticed, I haven't blogged in a significant while.

After my WACE examinations, which were treated with the most blasé attitude, I chilled out at Leavers in Moore River/Guilderton. It was probably the most dirty, carefree and unhealthy six days of my entire life. Much went down, including cooking, eating, Shadow of the Colossus, illicit substances and pool. One night was a smear and I said some weird-ass things like "Why buy an elephant when you can cut a fish in half with your words?" which was what I saw in my mind's eye (through a Jurassic Park wristwatch) after my friends started talking about how scientists killed an elephant with 1000 LSD tabs. I can't say that doing that stuff was great but it wasn't that bad either... Anyway, we stayed near a beach but we didn't really go swimming, instead we went down to it at midnight and walked and contemplated stuff. TL;DR? I had lots of fun at Leavers.

After Leavers, I planned to acquire a job. Obviously didn't happen as I'm unemployed up until now. I owe my sister money and today I spent a 'whopping' 30 AUD on an anorak from Factorie ($14.95), a large black tee from Table Eight ($4.95) and a red bag from City Beach ($10). Not to forget the Starter caps from Jim Kidd (2 at $3.95 each). AND I still have to spend like $18 for a seatpost for my new ride. TL;DR again? I need a job to buy more things.

TRON: LEGACY. Probably one of the best movies this year. Even if the ticket did cost $22... Went on a ride with some people to Innaloo to watch it and ended up getting scolded because I was in Leederville/Perth too late (10:30pm). Which led to a ban on going out late. But... back to the film. The soundtrack is epic (but then again, anything by Daft Punk is) and the visuals were brilliant. I still need to watch the original TRON movie but thanks to some pre-reading, I was able to understand the film.

Which brings us to my current dilemma: I can't remove my chain and I'm not allowed to go to a gathering tomorrow. I'm not happy at all and so I decided to blog because I was bored.

Exams

It's 1230 in the morning and I've yet to finish my maths notes which I planned to finish today. Stupid me for taking a break after dinner until 8pm.
And then playing DoW during the day and watching Youtube videos while studying.

Anyway, I'm waiting for my copy for Star Wars Battlefront II (which I've wanted for like years) to arrive from the United Kingdom. And once it does, I'll be playing it loads! Hopefully my friend will lend me Kingdom Hears: Birth By Sleep after TEE exams as well so, life after the TEE should be 'cruisy'.

Examinations

Exams are in three weeks. I have to study which means...
More trips to the State Library on bike. Sweet!

Also making a single-speed for myself and a fixed gear for a family friend which should be fun and distracting. (:

Looking

So I was like racing with my friend today, and sort of forgot there was a sharp ass turn up ahead in the roundabout. I knew that if I turned that roundabout at the speed I was going, I'd either get pedal strike and eat shit or the bike would slide out from under me (due to gravel) and I'd eat shit. So what did I do?

Seeing as I forgot it was there, I turned, summed my choices up, turned out of it, almost collided with an island, and for some reason decided to ride up the curb and... into someone's wall.

I think I blacked out for like a few seconds. Got up, picked up my bike and walked it off. I see that the paint on the top and down tube near the head tube has like shattered (?) and so I reached the conclusion that my head tube is now bent downwards like slightly and that also my fork is straighter than it's supposed it be.

Sigh. Now looking for a new frame. (:

Photo Cat

22082010

First alleycat I've competed in and it was 'bolts'. Although it was quite tiring riding up hills on risers and trying to get to and from every checkpoint really fast, it was quite an intense ride, in a good way. Started off slow and behind but caught up eventually. Risers allowed me get through tight spots relatively easy. We went quite off course but corrected, losing like 10 or 15 minutes which could of been used for Bell Tower points (*sigh*). Later, with the help of other riders, we found the end point which was hidden behind some house. Ate burgers. Came last (point-wise). Went to Hungry Jacks for dinner. Came home in the rain resulting in rusting of bolts and chain the next day.

I never I could ride that much in the space of one hour. Good day.
